Colour, pattern, shape:	There are often beautiful patterns and shapes in an agate. (For example: bands, eyes, clouds.) Depending on colour and pattern there are many different kinds of agate. Tree agate is white/gray with greenish spots, bands and lines.

You never feel embarrassed and the longer you have me in your collection, the stronger you become. Magical powers in the world of MiYu:	Tree agate comes from the MiYu island Sagittarius and is the most powerful stone of that island. From close up you can see the green roots grow right through the stone. If you make a circle of tree agates around a tree it’s roots will grow through even the hardest granite. Although it might take a while before it starts working. Warning: Never throw a used tree agate away between nettles!
Fun to know:	The name agate comes from the word “Achetes”; a river that once ran through Sicily. The first agate was found there in 300 B.C. When lava cools, there are often gas bubbles in it. When that gas escapes a hollow remains in which agate can develop. If such a hollow isn’t entirely filled with agate it’s called a geode. From the outside such a stone looks like a normal rock. You have to break it open to see the beauty within. Our ancestors saw agate as a gift from the gods, because they rarely found a beautiful stone like the agate. Agate was worth a lot and they made for example very beautiful scarab’s (luck bringing dung-beetles). Later they made beautiful goblets, gems and plates. In the ancient Rome important citizens wore rings of agate. Agate was a loved and wanted stone because it brought luck and healing.
Hardness:	6.5 to 7 on the scale of Mohs’s. Hard enough to engrave!
Findingplaces:	Mainly in areas with volcano’s. Brazil, Uruguay, India, China, Ural Mountains , Siberia, Iceland, Madagascar, Mexico and Germany.
