Snowflake Obsidian

Colour, pattern, shape:

The Snowflake obsidian in the Miyu collection is black with usually a lot of white snowflakes.
Sometimes it looks more white than black and every now and then it is the other way around.
On my travels across my islands I sometimes find a black stone with just a few specks of
white. Beautifully dark and yet shiny. It almost looks like glass. You can't see through it.

What can this stone mean to you?

Magical Powers:

I’ll cool you down when you feel hot from the sun or just getting yourself into a tizz. Do you often get angry? Tell me why and listen quietly to my answer, then you’ll know exactly what to do. Healing Powers:
Did you catch a cold and are you in bed with the flue? I'll be your companion.

Zodiac sign:

Snowflake obsidian and a Sagittarius make a perfect pair. With all your plans and ideals you
can sure use this stone to cool you down.

How will the stone keep it's powers?

If there is snow.... don't forget to take your snowflake glass outside in that winter wonderland.
Do that and he will be good to go for a whole year.

Life power:

Balance

Primal strength:

Wisdom

Magical powers in the world of MiYu:

On Sagittarius summer is there to stay. But that didn’t happen overnight. Aerdelick the Sower captured King Winter with all its swirling snow and locked him in this black stone. It didn’t quite work out as planned because you can still see snowflakes shimmering through. Please do not try to crack the stone. Before you know it, your fingers will be frozen solid.

Fun to know:

Obsidian forms when with a volcano eruption the hot lava reaches the ground and cools off very rapidly. Rough obsidian often has razor sharp edges. In the Stone Age people used it for spearheads, knifes and stone tools. The Inca's and Aztecs (old peoples from Central America) made axes and swords from obsidian.
In ancient Mexico they made needles from obsidian to sow together hides for clothing and tents. Later on in the Middle Ages obsidian was used by fortune tellers for magical mirrors and balls. The snowflake obsidian you are holding is also rough but the sharp edges have been worn off by the years.........thank goodness, otherwise you will cut your hand before you know it.

Hardness:

5 up to 5,5 on Mohs's scale

Findingplaces:

Actually in every area around the world where once were or still are volcano’s.
Snowflake obsidian originates mostly from Utah in the United States.

You are a Sagittarius. With your enthusiasm and congeniality, every day’s a celebration. You love meeting new faces, making new friends and taking on new adventures. You fire golden arrows into the hearts of the melancholy. It cheers them up and soon they want to laugh again. That makes you an exceptionally SPECIAL Archer.
