Phantom Agate originates on the island Scorpi.  It’s spots resemble those on the wings of a ghost owl. These birds will fly into your head at night and take your memories. To call a ghost owl you have to rub a drop of onion juice into the stone. Ghost owls can be tamed but it is very hard. Sometimes they come in handy though. For example if you want to make your teacher forget about tomorrow’s test.  

Phantom agate has that name due to it's ghostly appearance. It is always a surprise whether you find one
which is more white or one that is more black. The word agate derives from a small river called "the Achates" that once flowed on Sicily. Agate was found there for the first time in the 300 years BC.
In those ancient times people thought it was a gift from the gods because such beautiful
stones were rare in nature. It was very precious and used a lot to carve scarabs (a dung Beatle
that brings you good luck) from. Later on beautiful goblets, gemstones and dishes were made out of agate.
In ancient Rome, upstanding citizens wore rings from agate. It was much desired because
it brought happiness and had healing powers. The ghost agate is a relatively new stone. Its a newbie amongst agates.
