The crazy lace agate is a very beautiful stone. The patterns are very delicate and intricate. Crazy lace agate is there in a lot of different colours which sometimes makes it very difficult to recognize the stone. You can recognize crazy lace agate by the fine lines and patterns. Almost like real lace! Most crazy lace agate’s from MiYu are white/grey with bands and lines of brown/yellow. But you could come across a crazy lace agate with red lines and spots…or one that’s almost completely white! Those are more powerful so be careful if you have a crazy lace agate like that! And…don’t forget to enjoy all the details.

Crazy Lace Agate comes from the MiYu island Aquarius and there they call it Cobweb Agate. The cobwebs have the most beautiful lace patterns and the spiders use these stones as example. If you use this pattern for your brides veil half the city wants to marry you!

The name agate comes from the word “Achetes”; a river that once ran through Sicily. The first agate was found there in 300 B.C. When lava cools, there are often gas bubbles in it. When that gas escapes a hollow remains in which agate can develop. If such a hollow isn’t entirely filled with agate it’s called a geode. From the outside such a stone looks like a normal rock. You have to break it open to see the beauty within. Our ancestors saw agate as a gift from the gods, because they rarely found a beautiful stone like the agate. Agate was worth a lot and they made for example very beautiful scarab’s (luck bringing dung-beetles). Later they made beautiful goblets, gems and plates. In the ancient Rome important citizens wore rings of agate. Agate was a loved and wanted stone because it brought luck and healing. The Crazy Lace Agate is a relatively newly found stone. And is, compared to its brothers and sisters Agate a modern stone!
