Unicef - Malaria

In Canada, mosquitoes are an annoying part of summer, and can sometimes ruin camping trips.
In other parts of the world, including Liberia and Rwanda, mosquitoes carry a disease called malaria that makes children very sick and kills many of them. Because the mosquitoes that carry malaria only bite at night while children are sleeping, it is very hard to be safe.

Spread the Net is a programme that sends special bed nets to children in Liberia and Rwanda. Once a family receives a bed net and learns how to use it properly, children can sleep safely without worrying about getting sick with malaria. Find out more on Unicef website .
