Unicef - HIV and Aids
In some parts of the world, a disease called AIDS is a big problem that kills many people. Children whose parents and teachers have died from AIDS are left alone to take care of themselves and many babies whose mothers have HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, often catch the virus from their mothers during birth. Teaching young people how to stay healthy and protect themselves from catching HIV is also very important.
It is very important that children living with HIV get the medicine they need to keep them healthy for as long as possible. It’s also important that children whose parents have died from AIDS are taken care of.
